Deborah Beckman, MS, LPC, NCC

A crisis becomes an opportunity for growth when we encourage our internal creative resources. Moving into acceptance of what happens in life begins the creative process.

Thriving through all life’s challenges is how

I approach therapy.

I am skilled in treating a wide variety of therapeutic concerns. I treat sleep disorders, including disturbing dreams and recurrent nightmares. Disturbed  sleep complicates or even causes the emotional distress that brings people to my office.  Restoring healthy sleep is often the first step in getting better. I have presented for many years at national conferences for professionals regarding my approach to restoring healthier sleep.

Working with gay, lesbian, and straight couples to strengthen their relationships is also a significant part

of my practice.

Hypnosis is one of my therapeutic approaches in helping clients accomplish their goals. I am Certified in Clinical Hypnosis by the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis as well as an Approved Consultant. As an Approved Consultant, I work with therapists seeking certification in clinical hypnosis.

Prior to becoming both a Licensed Professional Counselor and a National Board Certified Counselor,

I practiced commercial design for 10 years and remain a licensed Architect.

“Look back not in anger, nor forward in fear, but around you in awareness.” James Thurber

“We cannot put off living until we are ready. The most salient characteristic of life is its coersiveness, it’s always urgent,
here and now without any
possibility for postponement.
Life is fired at us point blank.”
Jose Ortega y Gassett

We can master anything once we

accept it as a part of our lives.

I took these photos at the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens.

A glorious place any time of the year.
